Michael
Paulo is one most versatile and dynamic saxophonist in contemporary
jazz, pop and soul today. In career that evolved from his
native Hawaii 30 years ago. Michael has recorded and toured and
with Herbie Hancock,
Al Jarreau,
James Ingram, Oleta Adams, Kenny Loggins, Patti Austin, Jeffrey
Osborne, Jeff Lorber, Bobby Caldwell, and Johnny Mathis just
a few from his long list of credits.
With the debut of his first solo recording One Passion in 1988. Paulo went on to record six solo CDs, garnering top ten hits on the contemporary jazz/NAC charts and Top 20 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart. In an expanding his solo career internationally Michael is beloved in Asia and Thailand, making him the number one Asian American jazz artist. The 2002 holiday recording Sax for Christmas was awarded the Hawaiian Hoku Award for Best Jazz CD of the Year. He returned to perform with the Honolulu Symphony and Asian American Symphonies. Michael produces his successful Annual Temecula Wine and Jazz Festival now in its fifth year. He continues a rewarding ten year relationship as the musical host of the Dolphin Days Music Festival in Hawaii, an event that benefits the Shriners Hospital for Children. His emotive playing and endearing style has never failed to capture the hearts of his fans all over the world. |
